I have no doubt that is happening and I truly am sorry about that. I mostly stick to what I personally see, but I’ll edit the post to include both sides of course. No need to get snarky, I really am sympathetic towards your POV. It’s that tone that always made me nervous to talk, so let’s not do that. Ask me to tag anything you like and it’s done. I didn’t claim that isn’t happening, so don’t think otherwise please.
Not to be horny on sideblog but Zethrid’s hand is bigger than Lotors entire head and I want her to gently hold my hand
Her hands and size are just godtier. She wrapped a single hand on both of his, picked him up with one hand and dragged him. The fact that he even made a little sound says something of her strength.
Guys, Lotor is not real, but your fellow fans are, and so are the writers on the show. Please, be kind to your fellow fans, who finally now feel free to talk about him without dread of being insulted or shaded. It’s not hard to be kind to others, but it’s also so damn easy to just insult and attempt to silence anyone that enjoyed a villain’s arc. Do not repeat the same controlling mistake pre season 6 that made the rest of us shut our mouths about predictions that aren’t just us going he’s practically a paladin and is the best bf ever to Allura etc. It’s so easy to create a suffocating environment with venom and dogpiling others for daring to have opposing opinions. That was exactly what I and others felt by the end of the season 5 hiatus. Do not do that. People can enjoy a character however they please, and if some of us finally feel like they truly enjoy him for being fun to watch, we are just as entitled as you are for feeling he was wasted or was a soft character etc. Let this be a fresh start where we all can just, have our own opinions in peace. Don’t make fandom a toxic place just due to a fictional character, your fellow fans are far more worthy of empathy than characters are.
EDIT:
This also goes to anyone who suspected Lotor from the start rubbing salt into the wound and purposefully insulting and belittling others. Please, be kind, you earn nothing from smugness in the longterm.
This was the wham line and I love how the generals reaction is just a hard good god he is BATSHIT. And I like that in the end, it was his Altean side that revealed his madness and was the source of it. His need to be a god among Alteans. He flat out admits he would kill his mother and half of his race. He used his Galra blood to deceive, he considered himself a superior Altean. He was the Altean supremacist we been asking for back in season 2! And his god complex allowed him to see his slaughter and harvest of Alteans was his right to decide. I did think that it’s his Altean side that will betray the team but it turned out even more messed up.
Being 22 is wild cuz you flip between I’m so damn young why is my lower back in such agony and it’s extending to my left leg, and why does my breast ache a bit, and oh shit I’m 22 I could very much have destroyed my body or the pain is a tumour.
I didn’t find a reason to say so, since many around me shipped it and saw no reason to bum them out. But I also admit that I was afraid of hostility since a group of those shippers had a habit of dogpiling. Saw it twice with my own eyes, so it seemed like anyone that dared to oppose it -by either making a meme or joke or even say they dislike it- would be subject to a witch hunt, much like how anyone that said Lotor is complex and shady and not to be trusted would be subject to 50 vague posts and people are so stupid posts.
me, last week, hearing all the lotura shippers being excited for the new season:
Legit it made me realize that the whole ship was meant to be a squick. I admit I had it as a NOTP and so that near kiss in episode 2 made me cringe, but now you realize it’s done just to make the audience feel uncomfortable. Brilliant on a rewatch when you notice all his compliments towards her were never about her, but about her powers and being the daughter of Alfor. He later admits to Ezor and Zethrid he needed to gain her trust. Makes the entire arc rewarding when watched as the official season 2.
