i highkey think lotor knows haggar is his mother i mean, why wouldn’t he … he’s far too well researched to not know. and i also think haggar is well aware that he is her son, at least since remembering her past with zarkon in the season three finale. prince lotor refers to his mother as ‘honerva’ (and haggar as simply ‘witch’) because he resents her. he resents who his parents are now. but he evidently admires the woman haggar used to be … someone a lot like him, very cold cut and scientifically minded, calculating and a bit of an outsider in every circle, willing to take any risk necessary for the sake of simply gathering more information. i’m sure he wishes he knew his mother before she married his horrible dad, and that’s just a damn relatable concept. the entire royal family is my fav to dissect to be honest. zarkon and his lust for power has turned him more and more heartless and also robotic (physically). while honerva’s relationship with zarkon had transformed her into a woman she can barely recognize anymore … a high priestess of an evil empire.
when before, she used to scoff at the limited mindset of most religious and spiritual thinkers of her time.
anyway … i have a lot to say about lotor and his parents and all i want for lot’s story arc is some resolve between him and zarkon and haggar, not romance. because he is in no position to love anyone or even appreciate someone loving him (in canon’s reality anyway).
