Looking at the back it seems like there are lots and lots of Druids surrounding the blade. But what are they, and where could they have came from since Haggar only had a limited amount. Well, there is the possibility that when Alteans were hunted down pre-colony days they were given to Haggar to create Druids.

We know Haggar is a necromancer, so taking dead bodies and converting them into her Druids might be on the right track. Don’t forget, those are thousands so she has an army now.

dent-de-leon:

mmmmm just gonna leave this here

This is what I adore about this entire arc. We had so much foreshadowing from the very start of it, and threads to potential future stories. The second arc of Voltron told us Lotor’s motivations from episode 4 before revealing them in episode 23 of the second act. We can see all of Lotor’s true motives and intentions from the first 6 episodes alone, and the Altean empire wasn’t just to show that anyone can fall on the dark side, and the fact that this little acid trip was a huge spoiler to the end of the arc personally make me respect the writing even more. It even hinted the existence of Alteans. You can see the seeds planted and how it was written as one season. Go back and notice all of Lotor’s lines about Alfor, it has so much meaning now. How he talked about Alfor neutrally in front of his generals where he was the most honest, and how he used Alfor’s name to get Allura to warm up to him, and then drag it through the mud when all bets were off. Best of all? Allura sees instantly that Lotor really was just using her for her powers and takes no nonsense.

sukavuri:

Just a little reminder that Alteans can have different markings and we don’t really know why that is.

My best guess is what they do, like, Honeravs markings changed when she started working with the quintessence and all that.

The markings under their cheeks are the normal marks, but then they have secondary extra ones that are larger and take up more areas on the face. With Haggar the shape expanded the more she was exposed

It reached the end of her jawline after she entered the rift. Lotor was born with the post-exposure shape resembling Haggar’s a bit. It’s not far fetched to assume his could expand as well if he enters the rift.

Those extra marks could mean a different type of Altean, perhaps mixed with another species or have special abilities, like how a blessed Altean can have the mark of the chosen and thus change shape and size and have magical abilities.

I hate to be that bitch to say it but guys not all side info should be taken into consideration. It all depends on who releases information but not all of it is necessarily canon. There are multiple writers on the show. For example a lot of people quote the “Altean royalty” are the only ones who can make wormholes and are sacred Alteans yet when Allura tried to tie things together in S3E6 her immediate thought was Haggar despite her not being a royal. She assumed Haggar would be the one to power the teladav so that’s to keep in mind.
