The implication here is that Haggar was the leader of a ‘religion’. A religion which garnered a great deal of fealty from its followers and even more fear from those outside of its power.
In early seasons of VLD, Galra speak of Haggar and the Druids as though they are accessories to the empire rather than of it. They are weary of her ilk and are hesitant when expected to work alongside the druids, behavior rather uncharacteristic of a Galra Soldier™. Especially when we consider that the Druids were necessary to convert quintessence into usable Galra fuel.
Additionally, Macidus’s character design is very reminiscent of Joker (from Batman) with his maniacal smile and dark, cold green tones. It’s a very interesting choice which lends to the sense that Macidus has been driven mad in Haggar’s absence and was currently operating under delusions and a twisted sense of reality. (Quite possibly has been operating under a twisted sense of reality long before Haggar’s disappearance.)
All of this to say despite Honerva not being physically present in s7, we learned a great deal about how she operates-
She preys on susceptible yet powerful individuals to sway them to her ways, creating a strong sense of loyalty.
She creates a system which is dependent on her / her followers in order to sustain itself.
Even after she has abandoned her ways, those that remain will still fiercely defend what she fostered.
One of the biggest mysteries since season 1 were what are the Druids, and what do they look like, and where does Haggar get them from. There have been many speculations from corrupted Alteans to Lotor clones to dead Alteans revived and used by our favorite necromancer Haggar. It seems like the show is finally going to answer it now that Haggar is seemingly in control -of even Sendak I bet- as the trailer implies the Galra have new weapons and s5 reference to Sendak being her puppet.
The Druids have specific cuts on their arms, and now bandages, that the person Keith fights has as well, so it’s very possible to Haggar is creating them now faster than ever, be it from the Altean colony Lotor left behind with thousands of corpses or other methods. There seems to be an army of them now so their production must be urgent and clumsier. Perhaps it has something to do with this shot
Look at the mark on the man’s forehead, that says an interesting story all on its own.
So, i was going trought my files in another computer, and i found this wip that i did after watching season 3. Since it looked cool too cool to stay stashed, i decided to do a few half-assed edits and post it here :”D
I have not seen anyone upload what I consider to be the best scene in the series so far so I’m here to fix that. The music, the atmosphere, the power walk. Haggar is truly the deadliest villain in the show.
