Is it just me or is anyone else getting red flags by the anti who made that block list? Like it’s so weird to me that they’re desperate to become a “fandom guardian” and make their blog a “safe space for minors.” Why do they want to be friends with 14yo’s so badly?

nah. i’m getting some serious Bad Vibes. i mean obviously i’m not going to accuse anyone of anything without hard evidence but if you’re talking about how bad fictional power imbalances/age gaps are, you shouldn’t be going around trying to befriend 14 year olds??? especially if you’re in your 20s??? literally what are you doing…… 

Adult antis throw up the BIGGEST red flags for me. That “I’ll be your fandom mom uwu ur safe with me little children” attitude? Creepy as hell.

Even if I didn’t have police training in how to spot online grooming and radicalization online I would think they were creepy. But with it, you can see exactly how they aim to isolate young people with a toxic trust-nobody-but-me rhetoric, misinformation campaigns, collecting personal information to use as leverage and straight up harassment, shaming, emotional manipulation and bullying. 

Basically kids, don’t trust adults who want you to perform harmful activities, even if their reasoning sounds oh-so-righteous and they are so ~nice~ to you. Because they are grooming you.
It’s cool to have adult acquaintances, hell, adults taught me how to use a vpn/proxy and protect myself from predators online when I was a teenager, gave me information, critiqued my art and writing and told me how to bank online–but if an adult wants to become too personally involved with you and your life and police your activities, take a step back from them. You don’t owe them anything. It’s also in your interest to look at your region’s child protection laws tbh.
