a concept: Shiro is holding the LGBT sign in that art that Lauren posted last year because Shiro is the LGBT rep in Voltron. at some point in 2018 he comes out as gay/bi/pan. Lance is also holding the sign because Lance struggles to accept that Shiro, his hero whom he idolises, is attracted to men. consistent with the rest of his character arc, Lance has to learn to overcome his own feelings and prioritise being a supportive friend to someone on his team.
