sunset-spring:

A bunch of D&D au sketches I did as I was fleshing out more stuff! Just in case the text was hard to read or people wanted to see some bits individually, I broke it up in separate images from the main image.

I finally made a design for Acxa, who I decided to make a Tiefling – or at least half or whatever equivalent there is – mainly because of her horns. And that led to me changing up Keith’s character a little bit to make him part Tiefling as well, having the smallest horns that are easily hidden in his hair.

The dress for Allura’s character was just something I thought would be fun to design, since even in the campaign she’s still a princess and would need to dress the part on some occasions. And I couldn’t forget to add a small NPC version of Coran in some way.

And I had a lot of fun with doodles of Lotor’s character Sincline, and how he’s basically the party’s clueless golden hearted boy. Which I’m glad I can now share thanks to finally getting his backstory out.

Not to mention the fun I had with the Funbot Golem, controlled by an infamous Samoyed Dog – based on a question from a while back that suggested it.

I see everyone having major anxiety over the idea that Krolia might be fridged next season, and some even treating it as fact. Guys, let’s all just point out the fact that Voltron has been really good to women, in particular case of spitting on women in refrigerators, Haggar was made Lotor’s mother instead of a slave woman Zarkon owned and killed. I talked about that pre-season 3 and I stand by it. You know who we should be nervous about tho? Kolivan. If he is indeed Krolia’s father he’s in major danger of dying so that she can lead the blade. Voltron has a thing for killing -and attempting with Sam- fathers, not mothers. Have good faith guys!

Acxa is loyal by nature, it was never just loyalty to Lotor

Watching Kral Zera for the billionth time made me fully realise just what a white knight/noble demon archetype she is. When Trugg tries to shoot Haggar Acxa is quick to protect her. She then glares at Trugg right before hell breaks loose

What does Acxa do afterwards? Save Keith, despite the fact that she already repaid her debt to him in the Weblum itself, and then asks if they should get Sendak.

Saving Haggar makes sense, she spared her and her friends and took them in. But that little question about Sendak? That’s pure honour. It shouldn’t come as a surprise really, since she is intended to be the white knight, but it is so rare to see it with female characters.

It’s the reason she had the asskicking line “For Narti” it was her sense of loyalty to Narti and her friends that overcame the sense of duty to the prince. She is protective of those she serves and fights with. She had no reason to care for Keith, she had no reason to order the girls to not kill anyone in Puig. She’s just a noble demon who can get her way without harming too many innocents.
