it seems odd that zarkon would marry an altean with no plans to have a kid to carry on his legacy. like isn’t that megalomaniacal ruler 101? BUT I feel like if voltron weren’t a kids’ show, we would find out that lotor isn’t zarkon’s biological son, hence zarkon’s shame.

oh, i don’t think zarkon was ashamed of lotor or honerva at all…

i think he loved them unconditionally. like look what he did to save honerva? look, this is after he “saves” honerva and they’ve both mostly lost their minds but he still loves her, and he’s still desperate to save their child. look at honerva’s face. what this tells me is that they forgot each other and lotor slowly. it’s an agonizing thought, to be honest.
